Where you been Johnny Gill?

Look who made an appearance. Mr Johnny Gill is back doing his thing. After being out of the spot light for so long he can still put it down with his love ballads. Dang, can't wait to play this for the Mrs! He even managed to pull Eddie Levert and Keith Sweat in on a song (Long Time) It's about time he came out of hiding. We missed you Johnny.

Boyz II Men - TWENTY

Has it been 20 years already since these guys have been in the game? They have to be my most favorite group. They came on the scene around the same time as Jodeci with MoTownPhilly. Back when cassettes were the thing in portable music. And look who is still making hits. The new Twenty album reminds me of some of their older cuts with the sweet harmonies and ballads. They even hooked up with Teddy Riley and BabyFace on the production of some of the tracks. Track 5 More Than You'll Ever Know, in the words of my cousin, it goes hard! Featuring Charlie Wilson who is still kicking out hit after hit. If you are a die hard Boyz II Men fan for life, you will love this album.

Eminem "Recovery"

Once again Eminem has done it again! His new release Recovery is typical Eminem from the music to the lyrics eventhough he has a lot of explicit lyrics, Eminen's rhymes are top notch. With cuts featuring Lil Wayne, Pink and Rihanna, I think I like this album beter than the others. Forever a fan of Eminem.

Blackstreet - Don't Leave me

I know I know. It's old school but I'm listening to them right now on Pandora.
"If you take you're love away from me I'll go crazy, I'll go insane!"
That song starts off deep!

Today's music.

My best friend Marlon and I share the same taste in music. If we each find a particular artist, odds are, we will both like it. So after mentioning a new artist to him, he came up with the idea of creating a blog and just give my opinion on some of the music we like. Old School and new school.

I like a variety of music but I grew up on R&B with a little Hip Hop thrown in.What happened to the days when a song actually meant something? Even Rap music meant something. Now everything sounds the same. I have to ask my daughters if the song that's playing on the radio is the same song or something new. It's usually something new. I refuse to believe that I'm getting old(38 years old) and out of touch with today's music. Oh how I miss the days of 2-Pac, Heavy D, New Edition, Boys II Men, Guy, the list can go on and on.

So tune in people. I'm sure I'll have a lot more to say.
